Employment Screening Six common screening gaps For many organizations, one area of complexity in the talent acquisition process is employment screening. Screening is a critical step for employers because it can help reduce the risk of employing a bad hire. In fact, according to the recent HireRight Employment Screening Benchmark Report, 86 percent of respondents reported they discovered applicants who lied or had misrepresentations on their resumes or job applications. However, since background check processes are governed by ever-evolving federal, state, and industry regulations, maintaining an effective and compliant screening program can be challenging. The HireRight Benchmark Report is a recent survey of more than 3,000 human resources professionals and their background check procedures.
