But certain situations in life pulls us into the pool of negativity even without our knowledge sometimes. Forget about things that happen beyond our control, but there are things that can turn positive if we willingly make an effort. Say for example, staying positive and seeing everything with a positive vision is a great trait an individual can own to make the world a better place to live. Our cover article Why Can’t We Just Be Positive? by Douglas Miller focuses on this topic in detail. We are just complainers, says Miller. We won’t even know the other person well, or what he/ she is going through, but we quickly pass our judgment about them. If we are in a tight spot, in order to save our face, we quickly throw the mud on others, we simply cannot accept people who stand against our ideas. We do all these things, yet we complain if others do this! Isn’t it strange? Miller’s article is an insightful piece that points out the reasons for our negative vibe. Read it and stay positive! Grand theft identity began soon after you arrived on earth, says Alan Cohen in his article Identity Theft. Our identity is built by people around us. If they say you are unworthy, ugly or undeserving, you believe it. Similarly, if you tell a lie enough, you start to believe it. This has caused you to forget who you are and believe that you are powerless. Alan says, we should not forget that our real identity is spiritual. Nobody can steal our soul from us. Once that truth sinks in, you will be happy. Failure is the not the end of everything, and if you trust yourself, everything is possible in this world, says Ramakrishna Sayee in his article Believe in Yourself. There is a general notion that successful people had things available to them easily and are gifted. But remember, nobody is born as successful, they attain greatness through hard work and after several failures. Look at failure as an attempt that did not work out rather than as a dark patch in your personal or professional life. Sayee reminds us that we all have a huge potential, but rarely do we recognize and utilize it. Read the article and take home the positive vibes! Has embracing change been a difficult process for you? Generally, yes. We are so used to our routine life that a change can bring some initial friction. Jeff Davidson’s article CHANGE discusses about overcoming resistance to change. He also gives various reasons which explains why people resist change even if it means good to them. Read his insightful article to find out more about the topic. We also have a great bunch of other interesting and thought-provoking articles for you in this issue of Personal Excellence. We hope you enjoy reading the articles and move ahead in life with confidence and optimism. We believe that there is no better way to connect with people than by sharing your inspirational story. So if you have one, send it to us and do not forget to mail us your feedback. Happy Reading!
